Essential oils are volatile compounds extracted from plants that have been used for centuries for various therapeutic benefits:

  1. Antimicrobial Properties: Many essential oils have powerful antimicrobial properties, meaning they can help fight bacteria, viruses, and fungi. They can be used to maintain personal hygiene and prevent the spread of infections.

  1. Immune System Support: Certain essential oils, such as thyme oil, tea tree oil, and peppermint oil, can support the immune system and help strengthen the body’s resistance to infections.

  1. Anti-inflammatory Properties: Essential oils like peppermint oil and Boswellia serrata oil have anti-inflammatory properties and can help reduce inflammation in the body. They can be useful in treating muscle and joint pain, as well as managing inflammatory conditions.

  1. Antioxidant Properties: Some essential oils, such as Frankincense essential oil, peppermint oil, and tea tree oil, contain powerful antioxidants that can help protect cells from oxidative stress caused by free radicals. These antioxidant properties can contribute to the overall health of the body and the prevention of some diseases.

Synergy of essential oils in a single capsule

There are a number of essential oils that are known for their antimicrobial and antiviral properties. NUTRAMICIN PROTECT combines the power of these essential oils, in a single softgel, for the protection and health of the entire body.

Administered in combinations, these essential oils can be used to enhance their effectiveness (synergy) and to provide broader protection against viruses and bacteria.

1. Tea tree oil, thyme oil

This combination has strong antimicrobial and antiviral properties. Tea tree oil is known for its antiviral and antifungal effects, while thyme oil has decongestant properties and can boost the body’s immunity.

There are researches and medical studies that have investigated the properties and benefits of thyme essential oil (Thymus vulgaris) on human health. Thyme oil contains active compounds, such as thymol and carvacrol, which have been studied for their therapeutic effects. Here are some aspects in which thyme essential oil has been analyzed in medical research:

1. Antimicrobial properties:

Numerous studies have shown the antimicrobial activity of thyme oil, especially due to its thymol and carvacrol content. Thyme oil has been shown to have antimicrobial effects against some bacteria and fungi. Antibacterial activity was demonstrated against Gram+: Staphylococcus aureus (ATCC 25923 KS2), Streptococcus pyogenes (ATCC 19615), Bifidobacterium Breve (ATCC 15700), Lactobacillus Fermentum (ATCC 9338); Gram: Pseudomonas aeruginosa (ATCC 27853), Escherichia coli (ATCC 700728), Salmonella Typhimurium (ATCC 14028); and fungi: Candida albicans (ATCC 14053).
Research has indicated that thyme oil may have anti-inflammatory effects, due to its content of phenolic compounds. These effects may be beneficial in treating conditions such as arthritis.

2. Antiparasitic Effects:

Thyme oil has been studied for its antiparasitic potentialarazitar, especially in treating intestinal parasites. Preliminary research suggests that some active compounds in thyme oil may have activity against common parasites.

2. Tea Tree Essential Oil and Thyme Essential Oil

This powerful combination has strong antimicrobial and antifungal properties. Thyme oil also has powerful antimicrobial properties and can help support the immune system.

3. Tea tree oil and peppermint essential oil

This combination has antimicrobial and relaxing properties. Peppermint oil has calming and invigorating properties, can help increase energy levels and improve concentration, while tea tree oil is known for its antimicrobial and antiviral properties.

The activity of Tea Tree essential oil against antibiotic-resistant bacteria has attracted considerable interest, with methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) receiving the most attention to date. Since the potential of tea tree oil against MRSA was first hypothesized (153), several groups have evaluated the activity of TTO against MRSA, beginning with Carson et al. (31), who examined 64 MRSA isolates from Australia and the United Kingdom, including 33 mupirocin-resistant isolates. The MIC and minimum bactericidal concentrations (MBCs) for the Australian isolates were 0.25% and 0.5%, respectively, while those for the United Kingdom isolates were 0.312% and 0.625%, respectively. Subsequent reports of MRSA susceptibility to TTO similarly showed no major differences compared with antibiotic-susceptible organisms (39, 58, 68, 106, 115). Additionally, Tea Tree essential oil can inhibit bacteria, including Mycobacterium avium ATCC 4676 (105), Escherichia coli, Haemophilus influenzae, Streptococcus pyogenes, and Streptococcus pneumoniae (85). 2

4. Thyme essential oil and peppermint essential oil

This combination has antimicrobial and energizing properties. Thyme essential oil has antibacterial and antiviral properties, peppermint oil can help purify the air and stimulate the immune system.

Antifungal Activity of Menta viridis

Several studies have investigated the antifungal activity of Menta viridis extracts.

The research evaluated the antifungal activity of M. viridis essential oil, obtained by steam distillation of the aerial parts, against: Absidia ramosa, Alternaria alternata, Aspergillus, Cladosporium cladosporioides, Curvularia lunata, Fusarium oxysporum, Rhizopus stolonifer, Candida albicans, Rhizopus nigricans

5. Frankincense/Boswellia serrata Essential Oil with Tea Tree

This combination can provide powerful protection against bacteria and other microorganisms. Tea Tree Oil has antimicrobial properties, while Frankincense Oil helps boost the immune system and reduce inflammation.

Anti-inflammatory and immune modulating properties of Boswellia serrata essential oil
Inflammation is a “protective” response that involves the activity of immune cells, blood vessels, and molecular mediators. The purpose of inflammation is to eliminate the initial cause of cellular injury, remove necrotic cells and damaged tissues, and initiate tissue repair, as in rheumatoid arthritis.

Boswellia serrata essential oil significantly reduced levels of IP-10 and ICAM-1, important pro-inflammatory biomarkers, suggesting its anti-inflammatory potential. Alpha-pinene, the top constituent of Boswellia serrata essential oil, is widely recognized as the major anti-inflammatory component of this essential oil. An in vitro study showed that isolated alpha-pinene has the ability to reduce the expression of pro-inflammatory cytokines.

Recent research has also provided evidence that alpha-pinene has some immune system-enhancing properties, particularly in terms of enhanced T-cell activity. The results of the study showed that Boswellia serrata essential oil affected some important signaling pathways related to inflammation and immune response. 3
