Once valued more than gold, sacred frankincense was prized as a luxury item in the ancient and medieval worlds. Used for millennia in spiritual rituals to purify and ward off disease, sacred frankincense still brings us today unimaginable benefits for physical and mental health.
Boswellia sacra is a deciduous tree that grows up to 8 meters tall and lives up to 100 years.
The tree is so hardy that it can grow in the harshest conditions, from the rocky edges of high peaks to the arid lands of the Middle East.
To harvest the tree’s medicinal resin, an incision is made in the trunk from which the concentrated essence is extracted. Once exposed to air, it hardens.
Sacred frankincense is then distilled at controlled temperatures, a delicate process that requires experience and constant supervision.
To obtain a high-quality oil, distillers follow rigorous guidelines to extract the essence of the plant in its purest, unadulterated and active form, fully preserving the natural aromatic compounds.
Boswellia sacra essential oil abounds in therapeutic applications. Boswellia naturally contains several active compounds known as boswellic acids.

ADMINISTRATION:
» For internal use, diluted with honey or cooking oil:
3-4 drops 2 times a day. The dose is mixed in a teaspoon of honey (diabetics: a quarter of a teaspoon of cooking oil). It is used for 7-14 days.
It can be repeated after a 2-week break.
» For internal use, in empty vegetable capsules:
Administration in capsules allows for better assimilation of the oils, as they reach directly into the stomach where they act at the gastric level. Open an empty vegetable capsule, insert the essential oil with the syringe/dropper together with the cooking oil according to the instructions on the leaflet, and close the capsule. It is recommended to swallow the capsules immediately.
» For external, topical, diluted use:
To avoid discomfort, drying and irritation of the skin, or even rapid evaporation of essential oils, it is recommended to apply them together with almond or argan oil. In massage therapies, it is recommended to use diluted in oils with a more solid consistency.
Do not apply to open wounds, irritated skin or sunburn. Test a small amount on an area of skin beforehand.
» Aromatherapy, inhalations:
It is used in ultrasonic diffusers and aromatherapy lamps, both for the benefits brought to the body (relaxing, anti-allergic, decongestant), and to clean and disinfect the room from bacteria, fungi and mold spores. Cold inhalations are recommended for relaxation, or hot (1-3 drops) for respiratory diseases: rhinitis, sinusitis, bronchitis, etc.
Packaged in a glass container, with a dropper to:
- obtain a controlled dosage
- not to volatilize the oil upon contact with air
- not to be compromised by external organic matter
