How does senna extract help relieve constipation?
Senna is a medicinal herb often used to treat constipation. It contains chemicals called senosides that have laxative properties and help stimulate bowel movements and increase the amount of water in the colon, which can help eliminate stool.
Sennosides are a group of chemical compounds, also called anthraquinone glycosides, that are found in plants in the Rhamnaceae family, especially in the genera Cassia and Senna. These compounds are known for their laxative properties and are mainly used as ingredients in products that stimulate bowel movement.
Please note! Long-term use of products containing sennosides may lead to dependence, such as electrolyte imbalances or nutrient loss.
